VFCA Co-Winners of the 2010 Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award
The Virginia Fire Chief’s Association is one of three organizations to win the 2010 Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award. VFCA shares the award with The National Volunteer Fire Council and the City of New York Fire Department.
The Virginia Fire Chiefs Association is being recognized for the Virginia Fire Officer Academy, a program VFCA established in 2007 to enforce the 16 life safety initiatives of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. To date, the program has graduated 120 students from all parts Virginia and other states. -firehouse.com.

VFOA 2010 Applications posted
The 2010 offering of the Virginia Fire Officer Academy will be conducted on the campus of the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia June 13-18, 2010. Applications must be received no later than March 15, 2010. Notification of selected participants will be made by April 1, 2010.
There is a $195 fee per successful application. This cost covers lodging, meals and coursework.
Applications should be mailed to: Virginia Fire Chiefs Association, attn John Walls, P.O. Box 70907, Richmond, Virginia 23255-0907.
